Department of Animal Production Program was founded in 2006, in order to provide experts for all aspects of animal production through education of students for professional and scientific work in this field. During the studies, a student acquires necessary theoretical and practical knowledge, throughout the first and the second cycle studies (bachelor and master studies), about the livestock production in general and about the fields in agriculture that related to this production. The study process of this study program corresponds to the Bologna principle of 3 + 2 + 3 year educational system.
Teaching in the first cycle studies is organized through six semesters; in the fifth and sixth semesters, the students acquire the right to choose optional modules. At the end of the first cycle study, the students are admitted to the preparation and defense of their final work, which carries 10 ECTS credits, by which a student, after completion of the study, gains 180 ECTS credits in total.
Upon defense of final work, students are eligible to be employed in a position of a technologist or a head of animal production on small or large farms growing any animal species, in private or public sectors. Also, the acquired knowledge can be applied in scientific, professional and government institutions, in which the primary or secondary research is related to animal production.
